The main objective of canoa is to cooperate in the definition and implementation of strategies for indigenous territorial rights, health, education, productive alternatives, and the protection of traditional knowledge. To achieve this objective, canoa supports indigenous and non-indigenous initiatives relating to these themes.
Based on their experiences, each member of canoa has assumed responsibility for one the themes, articulating the necessary resources with other entities and organisations. The operative secretary for the alliance is Gaia Amazonas. |

| Etnollano and Gaia Amazonas are carrying out a project for “Strengthening educational process of indigenous peoples in the North and West Amazon”, which aims to define new educational strategies based on the use of own language and curricula development. |
